Lezyne recently finished building its new factory in Taichung, Taiwan!! Here are some photos from the new factory. From Lezyne USA headquarters to Lezyne Factory TW, we maintain a unified and very contemporary feel in every aspect. Dual head, commercial espresso machines in every location, handbuilt wood furnishings by Micki Kozuschek's longtime friend Olaf, and plate glass everywhere. We hope that you enjoy this as much as we all do.

If you happen to be at Roc d'Azur this coming weekend, stop by Booth C96 on Saturday, October 13th at 3:30 for a signing session with Cedric Gracia, Yannick Granieri, and Remy Absalon. Three legends all within their own right and discipline. Make the best of this great opportunity, compliments of Lezyne.

"Just one mile down the road from Art’s Cyclery World Headquarters is a company that Art’s has maintained a great relationship with since its inception. That company is Lezyne. Well known for their sleek design and engineering acumen, we wanted to give our customers an inside look at their office and where their fine products are born..."

Lezyne's new RAP LED tools (7,14, and 21 piece varieties) were dubbed "The. Best. Multi. Tool. Ever." by BikeRumor.com at Eurobike.

Lezyne showed off all sorts of fancy new integrated lens technology on their commuter and cycling lights, one with two bulbs and a thousand lumens. But the new RAP multitools with a single lumen LED pen light that slides over an allen key stole my heart.

The tiny light, pictured on its own in the bottom left, slips over an allen key with a spring-loaded ball to keep in in place. Slide it off and hold it in your mouth and it’s perfect for repair work on the trail at night. Brilliant.

More brilliance from lots of lumens after the break, too…"

Friedrichshafen, Germany – Today is a day the Lezyne crew has been working all year to bring the public – the day we launch the Mega Drive. This light represents the culmination of all that Lezyne has learned in development of the new Year 6 LED line.

The Mega Drive is an ultra high-powered, 1000 lumen, self-contained, performance LED light system. Constant Current electronics allow dual LEDs to emit light at a steady lumen output, producing more light over a longer period of time. The CNC-machined all-aluminum body can be opened to allow access to the replaceable battery pack (Infinite Light) and a standard USB charging port, like all of our rechargeable lights. The sculpted aluminum body is not just for show. The ribbed exterior actually serves as heat fins to maximize the efficiency of the LED light, and providing more light for your ride.

Mega Drive LED mounted to aluminum handlebar hard mount

The Mega Drive has four standard modes: Enduro (500lm), Blast (1000lm), Economy (200lm), and Flash (200lm). To cater to the performance and endurance LED light users, the Mega Drive features Race Mode – an alternate power mode that switches between Blast (high) and Economy (low) modes with a single push of the power button.

The Mega Drive attaches to handlebars with the existing Composite Matrix hard mount (same clamp used on the existing Year 5 and new Year 6 XL LED lights), as well as a new CNC-machined aluminum hard mount. It is available as a standard (light, USB charging cable, CM handlebar mount) and loaded package (light, USB charging cable, AL handlebar mount, extra battery, CM storage box).

Mega Drive LED - Loaded Package

CNC-Machined aluminum handlebar hard mount 31.8mm (25.4mm also available separately).

Mega Drive spec summary:

  • Price: Standard $199.99 / Loaded $249.99
  • Enduro: 500Lm / 3hrs
  • Blast: 1000Lm / 1.5hrs
  • Economy: 200Lm / 7hrs

For more information about the Mega Drive, visit the Lezyne Eurobike booth (B3-107) or visit the Mega Drive product page.

San Luis Obispo, CA – With the Eurobike trade show fast approaching, Lezyne has launched its 2013 line along with an updated website. In stark contrast to the Year 5 website, our Year 6 site is built to focus on the beauty and “engineered design” of Lezyne products. The site has also been upgraded with other features to improve navigation, loading speeds, and multi-language capabilities. As for the 2013 line, it includes a completely redesigned and expanded LED light line, refined CO2 inflators, new bottle cages, hand pumps, and small bags/organizers.

The Year 6 LED Line

Our 2012 LED line represented the company’s inaugural year as a light manufacturer with the introduction of the extremely successful Mini Drive, Power Drive, and Super Drive LED lights. For 2013, we are using the knowledge acquired in 2012 and applying it to build a completely new LED line from the ground up. We have introduced four new models to suit a variety of riding applications.

The Mini Drive, Power Drive, and Super Drive LED lights became the XL line with an increase in lumen output for each model (200lm, 400lm, and 500lm respectively), new oversized aluminum and CNC machined bodies run cooler, reduce weight, and accommodate constant current electronics. The Intelligent Power Indicator has red and green LEDs built into the power button that allow the user to check power levels during use and recharging. The optics have been upgraded to one-piece MOR lenses which increases light transmission by 10%. The XL lights are USB rechargeable and feature Infinite Light. For more details about the XL line, go to our WEBSITE.

Our new commute oriented lights come in the form of the Macro Drive (front) and Micro Drive (front/rear) LED lights. These lights have CNC machined aluminum bodies, Composite Matrix end caps, and USB rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries (non-replaceable). The Macro Drive recharges via micro USB cable and the Micro Drive uses an integrated USB stick. The lights attach to the bike via snap-fit Composite Matrix mounts and multi-position rubber straps for easy installation and removal. The Macro Drive produces 300 lumens for 3hrs on Blast mode. The Micro Drive Front is compact, yet manages to produce 150 lumens for 2hrs on Blast mode while the Micro Drive Rear is a 30-lumen taillight designed with rider safety in mind. It is equipped with five modes: 2 solid, 3 flash, 1 ultra-bright daytime flash. If there is a question regarding the durability of these new lights, be sure to check out some of our (fun) product testing as shown in this video http://youtu.be/tld2zr0fEsw. More information about the Micro and Macro LED lights can be found HERE.

Our Femto Drive LED was actually the first of our 2013 line to be debuted back in April at the Sea Otter Classic. These super compact street lights (front 15lm / rear 7lm) feature a CNC machined aluminum body and Composite Matrix back plate that attach to the bike with a multi-position rubber strap. Extensive testing and complex lens seals have resulted in a safety light that is extremely water resistant. More information on the Femto Drive lights can be found HERE.

All of the above LED lights will be available to buy from your local retailer by Fall of 2012.

For more details about Lezyne’s 2013 product line, please visit the Lezyne booth (B3-107) at the Eurobike tradeshow (8/29-9/1).

Bon Velo, a London-based Lezyne shop, has made the grand plunge into velodrome and track racing. They recently decided to sponsor the Herne Hill Velodrome.

"Over 250 racers signed on and bolted on their new number boards courtesy of Lezyne and hit the start line for just over two hours of practice before racing started at 11:00 sharp. Two race runs with the fastest time to count, all timed by old father time himself, Mike Gettleson of Mikrotime. Head down the track and amazing how many spectators lined the track from start to finish. Come those technical sections ...."

Following our entry mentioning Birzman's purty bike tools, reader Frank turned us on to Lezyne, a bicycle accessories company that's just celebrated their 5th birthday last week. Lezyne's products are borne from "a love for cycling [combined with] a passion for design—exquisitely designed, intelligently engineered, and functionally complete," says the company, which was started by former triathlete Micki Kozuschek.

Although based in California, Kozuschek originally hails from Germany, explaining Lezyne's striking, Teutonic aesthetic.
